I'm still HERE!

I'm still here, I haven't forgotten about my blog yet! haha I'm slowly picking away at a few ideas and getting some things done in the Cherry Pit. Some creative stuff and some organization stuff... both of which are helping me get back in to my creative groove!

It appears as though spring has sprung early (gosh I hope I didn't just jinx all this nice weather we've been having) and with that the boys and myself have been taking every opportunity we can get to get out there and enjoy our days not being cooped up in the house. As you can imagine I've been out there with them being their own personal version of the paparazzi and I have been getting lots of new stuff to get scrappy with! I tell ya, it is helping a LOT with making me want to be creative, I can't help it! New pictures get me excited!

Here are just a few things that w have done this past week.

Took the boys to the park to play....

Went to the Prim Point Lightstation.

My Nephew Trenton turned 11!

Xavier tried on Uncle Keith's old Football gear and that was pretty amusing....LOL

Preston outside riding his trike :) He loves that thing!

... and Robbie decided he wanted to try out the Sponge Bob Roller Sneakers out. :)

This week-end I am going away, hopefully lots more photos ops come from my days. I am also excited that I will be able to pick up my scrappy stuff I left at my friends house so I can bring it all home and finish these things I have been working on. I left them behind thinking, "I'm not using the stuff, why lug it back and forth?" Well that logic bit me in the butt didn't it?! LOL As soon as I get back I'll be able to finish things up that I've been working on and I'll then have some new things to post for you all to see.... woohoo!

So, today I am back at the organization of stuff.... maybe a bit of de-cluttering too, who knows. I hope you all are taking some time to be creative! Until next time.......

Happy Scrappin'!

Creations Recap

I said I'd come back and show you the few things I have made during the winter to get you caught up on where I am creatively. As I said in my previous entry, I have had a bad case of scrappers block all winter long, it's very disappointing knowing I did nothing to get myself cause up during the months where I don't take many pictures and don't really do much of anything else but craft (usually).

However, I have found a new thing I like to do crafty-wise and that is work with wood. Now, I've always liked tole painted things and crafts for the home, but never really got in to making anything for myself because well, I'll admit, when it comes to painting designs, I suck at it! LOL I discovered a happy medium this winter though, that has allowed me to think outside the box and combine my like of wooden decor, with my love for paper crafting!

Here is what I made for my Sister in law and my Mom for Christmas that got me started on this new crafty adventure.

These are so simple to make... chop up a 2x4, paint it, gloss it, glue paper to it, put the Cricut to work cutting out letters and it's done. The possibilities are endless really!!!

I also did some altered jars to put in a few gift baskets. I thought they turned out pretty cute also.

These are fun to make also... the glass jars came from the Dollar Store (that is my favorite place in the world by the way for finding treasures to alter!!!), a little paper and ribbon and ya got something that looks pretty 'homey' to hold your treats in your house :)

Ok, so if those were all gifts, you MIGHT be wondering "Well, Jenn what have you made for yourself?" If you weren't wondering that then you are probably done reading my blog for today, but if you were wondering then keep scrolling down...hehe

The first thing I wanted to do for myself was make my own 'Family" sign. So I picked out papers that matched my curtains and other items around the house and here is what I came up with.

I made the letters a little bit smaller along the bottom on this one than the others I made, not so sure I like that part... it's nice having more space top to bottom, but the bigger space between words bugs me a bit; but it's done, and that's how it is staying, create and learn! LOL

So from the 3 patterned papers I used I had lots of scrap left over, sooooooo I made as many coordinating items as I possibly could using only the left over scraps. Here is what came of that:
These plaques were fun to make. Found the wood shapes at the dollar store, painted them up, cut the papers to size, worked the Cricut and here ya go. :)

and then I made myself a set of matching jars..... (they are still empty.... candy and me aren't getting along right now with my lack of eating it and all....LOL).

Found this little clip board at the Dollar store also. It was just white to begin with, I painted then covered it, covered the pencil and added a border to the the pad of paper that came with it, and then tied ribbons along the bar that is holding the pad in place. I think it's cute!

These magnets came last. I altered a couple of coasters, & added a magnet to the backs. I made 3 with the initials of each of my boys. They are meant to be photo magnets but I have yet to find and print pics off of each of the boys that I'd like to put on them....LOL

So there you have it.... my crafty projects that have nothing to do with scrapping pictures! LOL not to say I haven't scrapped any pages at all.... I think I've completed a have dozen or so over the winter, maybe I'll post pics of them next time.

Right now I have an altered cookie sheet, and three more wood sign projects on the go at the same time as well as a painting..... all of which are waiting for me to head out to wal-mart and pick up some new cutting mats for my Cricut so I can get started cutting the shapes, words and phrases that I need to finish them up. So I am gonna head out and fix that problem now :)

Until next Time, Happy Scrappin'!
